Humans were made on the sixth day of Creation.
Their first full day on earth was the seventh. The Sabbath. The day God rested.
In Genesis 1:26–31, God says, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness." He creates them male and female. He blesses them. He gives them work: fill the earth, rule over it.
Then He looks at all He has made and declares it good.
Notice: no one has planted, built, or done anything at all.
God's verdict came before your résumé.
Is that how most of us live?
We meet someone new and our first question often is, “so what do you do?” We feel great on productive days and useless on slower ones. Retirement, a layoff, an empty nest, an illness, and all of a sudden we wonder what value we have.
Today, machines can write emails, draw, and articulate more knowledge than we can hope to ever. It's fair to wonder where that leaves you and me.
Genesis answers clearly: you bear God's image. He made you in His image to be in relationship with Him.
God gives work afterward. It still matters. But the work came after the blessing.
So if this Monday already feels like a tough one, just remember.
God blessed you before you woke up. Before you did anything. You're part of what He made. And it is very good.
What would change this week if you believed the "very good" came first?
