Dads
Dad's Prayer for January 27th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, Your Word says we have received grace upon grace from Your fullness. I act like I am running on empty. But the supply is not low. My drawing on it is. Pull me back to You today. Between meetings, instead of doom-scrolling, give me one short prayer. When the kids wear me out by dinnertime, instead of snapping, give me one breath back to Your fullness. Remind me at noon and again at five that Your grace has not run dry. I just keep walking past it. Help me keep returning to You. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
