Dads
Dad's Prayer for May 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says those who have tasted know You are good. I have. The taste was real. Years ago I found something the world cannot make, and even now, on flat days, the memory of it tells me where to come back to. Help me come back today. Not for the big moment from years ago. For the daily portion. Your grace is reliable. It is offered. I do not have to chase it. I have to receive it. Set the table again. I will sit down. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
