Dads
Dads Prayer for June 5th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, You shut Noah in the ark. He did not seal it himself. You did. You protected him from the outside. Lord, the best protections in my life are the ones I did not plan. The job I did not expect. The friend who came at the right time. The warning that kept me from a wrong turn. You closed the door. Help me trust the doors You are closing right now that I do not yet see. Some of my prayers are answered with "no" because You are keeping me safe. Teach me to thank You for the closed doors, not just the open ones. Both come from Your hand. Amen.
