Dads
Dad's Prayer for June 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, "Help, Lord." Psalm 12:1. Two of the shortest, truest words in the Bible.
Father, sometimes that is all I have.
The day is heavy before it even starts. The list is long. A child is sick. A boss is unfair. The people I love are stretched thin. I do not even know the next right thing to do.
Help.
That is the prayer. Not fancy. Not long. Honest.
Send the help in any way You choose. A friend's text at just the right time. An hour that goes better than I feared. A quiet thought that shows me one small next step.
I am not asking You to wipe the day clean and start over. I am asking You to walk with me in it.
This simple prayer is enough, because You are enough.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
