Dad's Prayer for September 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 33:13 says You see all people from heaven. That verse comforts me and scares me at the same time. You see me. The quiet prayer I had this morning and the careless thought I had at lunch — You saw it all.

Do not let that crush me. Your seeing is not spying. It is the attention of a Father who loves His son. Nothing in my life is hidden, even the parts I do not want to look at. And nothing in my life is ignored.

Let Your seeing make me honest, not fake. If You already see, hiding is useless. Help me bring what You see into the conversation. Father, I had that thought today, and it was small of me. Father, I am tempted in that area again. Father, thank You for that moment of grace I almost missed.

Lord Jesus, You see me, and You love me. Help me live this day under Your kind and honest gaze.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
