Dad's Prayer for November 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the accuser is real. I have heard his voice in my own head. He lists my failures. He keeps a running score of why I do not deserve to be called Your child. He whispers that I am the exception to Your grace.

But You do not leave me in those dirty clothes. You rebuke the accuser. You clothe me in clean garments I did not earn. I do not have to answer every charge. You handle them.

When that accusing voice runs today, help me remember the clean garment. The list of failures may be accurate. The garment over me is also accurate. The first does not undo the second.

Lord Jesus, You silence the accuser by Your blood. Cover me again this morning. Let me work today as a man clothed in You, not as a man defending himself.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray
