Grandmother’s Prayer for February 11th
A short, Scripture-shaped grandmothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Acts, people took notice that the disciples had been with Jesus. They did not need titles or proof. It just showed. Lord, I am not standing before any big crowd today. I am standing in front of my mirror and the people who will walk through my door. What shows on my face, Father? After all these years, is any of that time with You still visible in me? I am not asking to look good. I am asking because I want it to be true. Not for my sake alone. But because the people around me are tired of pretending. They would notice the real thing, even from across the room. Let the time I spend with You show. Not in fancy words. In patience when I want to snap. In a face that has not gone hard. In listening longer than I have to. Let someone quietly take notice that this woman has been with You. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
