Kids Prayer for September 25th

A short, Scripture-shaped kids prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord Jesus, in John 11, it says You cried at Your friend's grave, even though You knew You were going to bring him back. You did not skip the sadness just because You knew how the story ended. You let Yourself feel it. Help me do that, too. When my friend moves away, or something bad happens, I do not have to pretend everything is okay. You did not pretend. Being sad is not weak. It is honest. You are honest with me. I want to be honest with You. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
