New Mothers Prayer for January 14th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Isaiah 63 calls You "mighty to save." Tonight I am not asking You to save me from something big and scary. I am asking You to save me from falling apart on one more sleepless night.

Save me from the resentment that creeps in when the baby will not settle. Save me from scrolling past other moms' happy pictures and feeling like I am not enough. Save me from snapping at my partner when I have nothing left to give.

You are not a small God who only handles big rescues. You are mighty enough to save me from a bad attitude at midnight. That is not beneath You.

Steady my heart. Steady my voice. Let me pick up my baby one more time with love instead of bitterness, because You are with me here. And even when I am worn out, she is worth it.

Amen.
