New Mothers Prayer for January 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Son was once a baby. He had a tired mother. He knows what this house sounds like at night. He has heard a mother's quiet prayer over a sleeping child.
Lord Jesus, I am sitting here in the dark, holding this small life. I do not always know what I am doing. But You have been the child in someone's arms. You know the weight of it.
Help me feel less alone in this chair. Other mothers have prayed here before me. You were once the one being held. Hold us both now.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
