New Mothers Prayer for February 5th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, 1 John 4 says You sent the Son to be the Savior of the world: the world, not just the put-together people in it.
I include this kitchen in that. I include this baby in that. I include the woman I see in the mirror, tired and unsure, in that.
Christ did not come for the polished version of me, I keep promising to become. He came for the actual one, in pajamas, holding a bottle, behind on emails.
Save me here. From self-pity. From the slow comparison creep. From the temptation to disappear into the phone. Save me from the real life I am living, not the one I keep wishing for.
This room is the world You came for. Be in it now.
Amen.
