New Mothers Prayer for February 10th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Paul wrote that he learned to be content whether he had plenty or almost nothing. His peace did not rise and fall with his circumstances.
I have not learned that yet. When the baby naps two hours, I feel hopeful. When she does not nap, I am near tears by four.
Teach me to stand on ground that does not shift with the day. Let my joy not depend on whether the baby slept. Let my faith not depend on whether I prayed well this morning.
Christ is the same in the good hour and the hard one. Anchor me there. The hour can be hard and You can still be my peace inside it.
Amen.
