New Mothers Prayer for February 13th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says You love us so much that we are called Your children. Not employees. Not volunteers.

I forget that. I keep acting like I work for You, like my worth depends on how much I get done for You this week.

But this baby in my arms does not earn her place here. She is mine because she was born to me. She is loved on the days she sleeps and the days she does not, when she smiles and when she screams.

I am Yours the same way. Not for what I do. By birth, into Christ.

Let that change how I talk to You today. I am coming to a Father, not filing a report.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
