New Mothers Prayer for March 2nd
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in 1 Samuel 13, Your people went to their enemies just to sharpen their tools. They had to depend on the wrong people for the most basic things.
I see myself there. I have been going to small comforts for things only You can fix. The phone when I need rest. The snack when I need comfort. Scrolling away when I need something new.
But these don't sharpen anything. They just make me duller.
Show me where I have gone to the wrong places to be fixed. Teach me to bring my dull edges back to You. My prayer life that has gone soft. My patience that has worn thin. My hope that has gotten quiet.
My body is tired, but my heart is full. I need You to hold both.
You sharpen freely. I am coming.
Amen.
