New Mothers Prayer for March 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 39 says, "I am a stranger with You." Not a stranger to You, but a stranger with You.
That small word "with" matters. I do feel like a stranger in my own life right now. My body is different. My schedule is different. My friends and my old rhythms have all shifted around the baby.
But this world is not Your home, and it is not finally mine either. We are both passing through. You are with me on the road.
That changes the loneliness. I am not stranded. I am not alone in this new country. You are here too.
Help me look up and see my traveling companion. Help me notice that You are close, even when everything feels strange.
Amen.
