New Mothers Prayer for May 9th: Indwelling Spirit

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says You have already given me every spiritual blessing. Not later. Not when life gets easier. Already.

I keep talking like the real blessings are still coming. When the baby sleeps through the night. When my body feels like mine again. When we finally find our rhythm. Then I will feel blessed.

But the deepest gifts are here right now. You have forgiven me. You have called me Your own. You are living inside me. I can come to You anytime. And You have promised me forever. None of that is on hold.

I have more than I have been living like I have. Open my hands to receive what is already mine. The coffee will still go cold. The monitor will still buzz at 3 a.m. The day will still be long. But the truest blessings are already in this house.

Thank You for them. Thank You.

Amen.
