New Mothers Prayer for May 10th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says, "Now is Christ risen from the dead." Not someday. Now.

That changes what is true about this Tuesday. He is alive while I am washing bottles. He is alive while the baby is napping. He is alive while I am sitting here at the kitchen table with my hands wrapped around a mug.

I do not always feel His nearness. But His being alive does not depend on my feeling it.

The resurrection is not just a story I memorize. It is a reality I am living inside. He beat death so He can be with me right now. Every part of this day is held together by a risen Christ.

Let me move differently because of that. Lighter. Less afraid. The grave was empty. He is right here in my kitchen too.

Amen.
