New Mothers Prayer for May 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, there was a man in Your Word who could not walk well. He was broken in his body. But the king let him eat at the table anyway. He did not have to be fixed first.

That is me. I come to Your table still limping. Still not the mother I want to be. Still slow. Still tired. My arms ache. My heart is heavy. I am healing from things I did not even know were broken.

You do not ask me to walk perfectly before I sit with You. My weakness is welcome at Your table. My slow recovery is welcome.

Let me come tonight without pretending to be more whole than I am. The same hand that brought that broken man to the king's table is bringing me to Yours.

Feed me anyway.

Amen.
