New Mothers Prayer for June 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 12 cries out, "Help, Lord." Two words. They are enough.
I have been over-explaining my prayers as if You need all the details. As if You will not help unless I explain it just right.
You do not need a long explanation. You just need me to ask.
Help, Lord. With this afternoon I am dreading. With my body that is not bouncing back. With the friendship I am letting drift. With my baby's tooth coming in tonight. With the prayer life I keep trying to start again.
I will not dress it up. I do not have the energy. Two words are all I have today.
Help, Lord. Help, Lord. Receive both as a full prayer.
Amen.
