New Mothers Prayer for July 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the kettle is on, and the kitchen smells like the toast I burned. In Exodus 16, Your people gathered food fresh each morning. None of it lasted past that day. I want to store up strength for the whole week. But You give me just enough for today. Let me stop asking if I have enough for what is coming. Today is the only day I am asked about. The bottles for today. The naps for today. The patience for today. The weight of this small one in my arms today. Give me the portion I need before the baby wakes again. How next Wednesday gets fed is not mine to know. Amen.
