New Mothers Prayer for August 8th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I make small webs of pretending. I wear a put-together face at playgroup. I use a calm voice on the phone with my mom. I write a bright caption for a photo that hides the messy kitchen behind it. Brush the webs away. Let me be plain. I am tired. The house is not pretty. I love my baby. I love You. And I am also short-fused before noon. Let what I show match what is real. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
