New Mothers Prayer for September 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Judges 7, Gideon's men broke their jars, raised their torches, and called on Your name. You used a small, brave act at just the right time. I have a small, brave act waiting today — the hard text to send, the appointment to schedule, the honest truth to tell my husband about how this week has been. I do not need a great army. Help me break open what I am hiding and lift the light You have given me. The battle is Yours, not mine. The torch is mine to hold up. That is enough for today. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
