New Mothers Prayer for December 12th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your ways never change. The seasons change. The schedule changes. The way this baby wants to be held changes every few days, sometimes every few hours. But You do not change. The same kindness that called Abraham is the kindness that meets me in the rocking chair. The same patience that carried Israel through the wilderness is the patience that carries me at three in the morning. You are not making this up as You go. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. The day ahead of me will be full of surprises. But the way You walk through it will not change. Walk with me today, Lord. Hold me steady as I hold this child. Amen.
