Teens Prayer for January 7th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, today did not go how I wanted it to. I was short with my brother. I bombed the quiz I half-studied for. By the fourth period, I was wishing I were somebody else. Philippians 1:21 says for me to live is Christ — and I lived for a lot of other things today. Most of it was me. Some of it was small and ugly, and nobody saw it. I am not going to pretend I was better than I was. But I also do not want to lie here tonight going over every mistake again and again. Just tell me the truth. Forgive what was wrong. Forgive what was just me being proud and calling it something else. There were also mercies today I almost missed. Somebody covered for me. I did not get caught for something I should have. My mom made dinner and did not say a word about it. Thank You. Hold the things I cannot figure out right now. Let me sleep tonight without pretending one more time — even in my own head. Amen.
