Teens Prayer for January 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, I wear so many faces I've lost track of which one is real. The one in the locker hallway. The one at the family dinner. The one alone in my room late at night. I don't even know which version of me is me anymore.
Your Word says I belong to You, and You belong to God. That's the one thing that stays true no matter where I go. Not the version my parents want. Not the version my group chat expects. Not the version I edit before I post.
I want to bring all of them to You. The petty one. The cynical one. The one who just wants to be liked. None of them shocks You. None of them gets me thrown out.
Where I've been hiding, find me. Where I've been pretending, take the pretending away. Make me the same person at lunch as I am alone tonight.
Amen.
