Teens Prayer for January 22nd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I am sometimes meaner than I think I am. I saw it today when I made a joke about somebody at the table and watched their face change — and then I pretended I hadn't noticed. I have been someone who looks fine on the outside but is different on the inside. I am tired of being that. I am not asking You to fix everything tonight. I am asking You to take this one small thing — the joke at someone's expense — and let me be truly sorry. Not just embarrassed that I got caught. Real sorrow, the kind that changes what I say next. I want to be the same person inside as outside. Right now, the inside needs work. Start there. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
