Teens Prayer for January 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, I am out of patience. I snapped at my mom today when she asked me the same question for the fourth time. I don't feel sorry. I feel justified, and that's worse. I can't make myself patient on my own. I need Your strength for this. I can't feel patient, but I can choose patient. I can answer in a level voice instead of a cutting one. I can not roll my eyes when she comes back into the room. I can not slam my bedroom door when I need to walk away. I can do small, hard acts of kindness even when my feelings don't want to. Maybe the feeling comes later. Maybe it doesn't. Either way, she deserves the kindness, and I owe it to her. Help me give it. Amen.
