Teens Prayer for January 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I have been holding onto something my brother said in front of his friends. It has been two weeks, and I keep the grudge alive like it is a small pet I feed every night. I did not set the trap, but I am the one walking around inside it now, on purpose. Get me out. I am not pretending his words did not hurt. I am asking You to take the loop. Stop the replay that runs every time the room goes quiet. Show me one small thing this weekend that is the opposite of holding the grudge. Help me pass him the milk without a mean comment. Help me ask about his game like nothing is wrong. Help me leave him alone when he wants quiet. We are brothers, even when we are bad at it. I do not want to carry this anymore. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
