Teens Prayer for February 14th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, today is Valentine's Day, and I am single. I am fine, mostly, except for the parts where I am not. The same dumb story keeps cycling through my head: if a certain person liked me back, my life would feel different. But Your Word says You give a steady portion day by day, not a feast all at once. My day has a portion in it. It does not include the person I think I want. That is not the same as being abandoned. Reorder my appetite. Stop me from spending another evening rehearsing what I would say if. Help me eat, do my homework, and text the friends who actually love me. Do not let me turn this day into a self-pity show. Turn my longing toward You. If You bring a relationship later, You bring it later. Tonight, there is enough in this room. Help me believe that without faking it. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
