Teens Prayer for March 19th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, a friend got into the program I wanted. I told her congratulations, then went to my room and felt jealous and small. I am sorry. I know Abraham trusted You and gave You glory, but I have been holding on to my own plans like they were everything. Take the ranking I have been running in my head. There is enough good in the world for me and for her. Her win is not my loss. Her gift is not my lack. Help me text her in the morning and really mean it. Help me be the friend at her celebration without keeping score in my heart. Pull me out of the competition and help me see the place You have given me as mine and as enough. She is not my rival. She is my friend who got good news. Help me live like I believe that. Amen.
