Teens Prayer for April 15th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the day is starting, and I do not want it to.

Psalm 22:1 says, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?" Jesus prayed that out loud on the cross. So the Bible already holds room for someone who feels alone in the morning. That is me right now. I am praying badly, on my floor, before school.

I do not feel You here. I am asking You to be here anyway. Make this morning Yours, even when my heart feels nothing.

Help me get up. Help me eat something. Help me show up to first period. Help me answer my mom in a real voice. None of it has to be impressive. All of it counts as obedience while my feelings sort themselves out.

Receive this day from a kid who does not feel ready for it.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
