Teens Prayer for July 22nd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Jeremiah 3, You told Your people, even the ones who walked away, "I am married to You." That still gets me. I drift all the time. I forget You for whole afternoons. I make promises in my head and then break them. And still, You hold on to this relationship. It is not a contract I keep failing. It is Yours. Help me not take that for granted. Knowing You will not let go of me is not a reason to be careless. It is the reason I can come back without shame. So I am coming back. Quietly, right now, before I try to fix myself. Take me into this day as Your kid, not Your stranger. Let coming back to You be normal for me, not a big production. This relationship is older than my forgetfulness. It is stronger than my drifting. Hold the line. I will keep finding my way back to it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
