Teens Prayer for July 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, there is a verse about people who stood by and did nothing, and it says they became among those doing wrong. That is the one that catches me. I do not always do the big bad thing. I just stand there while it happens. A friend gets cut down in a group chat, and I laugh. Or I say nothing. Silence in the wrong room is not neutral. I am sorry for the times I have stood by. Make me a person who speaks up small, even when no one will know I did. I am not trying to become a hero. Just a person who does not become the room I am in. Give me the first small chance to say something honest today. Help me see the line between watching and joining before I cross it again. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
