Teens Prayer for September 14th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says that when I confess, You are faithful and just to forgive me and to clean me up inside. So tonight I am bringing You the small stuff. The way I talked about someone. The show I watched, even though I knew it was not good for me. The hour I wasted after I said I would use it better. I am telling You all of it now, even if it is quiet. I am not asking You to make me feel fine about what I did. I am asking You to forgive me. Then help me actually sleep, not because the day was perfect, but because this is settled. You promised to forgive and to clean, so I am not staying stuck in guilt. I am letting You close this day for me. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
