Teens Prayer for October 8th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Matthew 6, You said to go into my room and shut the door when I pray. Most of my prayer life happens around other people. With friends. On a group chat. Even when I mean it, part of me is still performing. Today, help me close the door. Just me and You. Nobody to impress. No quote to share later. Some of the realest prayers I will ever pray are the ones nobody else hears. Help me make this one of them. Train me in private so I can follow You in public. Let me grow deep roots, not just look good on the outside. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
