Teens Prayer for November 18th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 56 says You keep my tears in a bottle and write them in Your book. You have counted every time I have cried this year. That still surprises me. I am not wrong for being sad about what made me sad. You took it seriously enough to record it. I do not have to explain my grief to anyone. It is already on Your record. So help me carry it without being crushed by it. The friends who told me to get over it did not get to decide. You saw. You bottled. You recorded. Help me trust that You have been keeping track of what it has cost me. And now, slowly, help me let some of it go. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
