Teens Prayer for December 4th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 130 says, "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in Your word I hope." Waiting in December is hard. There is so much hype about how this season is supposed to feel. Mine has not felt that way. That is okay. I will wait. My hope is in Your word, not in the seasonal feeling. Tonight, help me put down the disappointment that the season wasn’t magical. Help me wait for You on the actual day I am in. Most of Christmas is just regular days dressed up. Help me find You in the plain ones. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
