Teens Prayer for December 24th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father,

Luke 2 says she wrapped Jesus in cloths and laid Him in a manger. I have heard that story so many times. Help it land for me again.

Not the polished version. The gritty one. A tired couple. A stable. Animals. No plan. And You chose that place to come in.

You are not afraid of mess. Whatever my Christmas looks like tomorrow, Your presence does not need a clean stage. Come in anyway.

The manger was a feed trough. That is where You placed Your own Son. You are that comfortable with mess.

My Christmas does not have to be presentable. You came for the unpresentable parts.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
