Easter Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, on Easter morning, the stone was rolled away, and the angels said, “He is not here, He is risen.” If the tomb is still full, then everything falls apart. But the tomb is empty. That is not a metaphor for spring. That is a real body raised from the dead. You are the first to rise, and because You rose, I will rise too. Build my Easter on that fact. The fact does not depend on my mood that day. It does not depend on how I feel or what goes well. It is Yours, done without my help, offered without my deserving. He is risen indeed. Let me carry that into the Tuesdays that follow. The dawn that broke that morning has not yet set. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
