Forgiving Others Who Hurt You Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, Your Word says if I do not forgive others their wrongs, You will not forgive mine. I have tried to get around that. I have told myself some hurts are too big to forgive, especially the ones done to me. Forgive me for that. Help me see that forgiving is not saying the wrong was okay. It is not giving trust back to someone who has not earned it. It is giving up my right to settle the score myself. Take the score. The person who hurt me owes a debt I could never collect anyway. Wipe it off my record so my hands are free for today's work. Bitterness will eat me before it ever touches them. Save me from that. Amen.
