Theme

Living Sacrifice Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, by Your mercies, I bring my body to You as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. This is my true worship.

The old sacrifices were dead and stayed on the altar. But I keep trying to crawl off. That is the hard part. I have given You my hand for ministry, then taken it back by Wednesday. I have given You my mouth for witness, then pulled it back in front of the wrong people. I have given You my time for service, then taken it back when life got busy.

Hold me on the altar. My body is Yours. This day is Yours. Use both. Make my worship real, in the small things, every day, with all of me, not just the easy parts.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
