Strength Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, Your word says that those who wait for You will renew their strength. They will rise up like eagles. They will run and not grow tired. They will walk and not faint.

I notice You end with walking. Not flying. Not running. Just the slow, steady step that most days require. That is what I need.

I do not need eagle wings today. I need feet that do not stop. Renew the strength I need for the right now step in front of me.

Teach me to wait on You, not as work I do, but as trust in who You are. You supply the next mile when it comes.

Walking and not fainting is the miracle I need most days.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
