Word Of God Scripture Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says all Scripture is breathed out by God and useful for teaching, for showing me where I am wrong, for setting me back on track, and for training me to live right.
I have treated the Bible like a buffet. I take what feels good and leave the rest. I want the teaching. I skip the parts that correct me. I linger on comfort and skim past the hard truth.
That is not how You gave me Your Word.
The reproof is an act of love. The correction is an act of mercy. The training is how I slowly become the kind of person Your Word is making me.
Open me to all of it this week. Do not let me jump past the verse that stings. Do not let me close the book when it cuts close to home. Train me to be a fuller reader, not just a comfortable one.
Amen.
